Co-chaired by Bank of America team co-captain Sandy Morgart and Amanda Allen, “Jeans & Jewels” will feature a silent and live auction, DJ, raffle and fashion show. Ticket sales will benefit 24 Hours of Booty, Inc., which runs the Official 24-Hour Cycling Event the LIVESTRONG Foundation and the premier national 24-hour road cycling charity event in the country.

A highlight of the evening will be recognizing this year’s recipient of the “Inspiration Award,” which will honor an individual in our community who serves as a source of inspiration based on how they handled their fight with cancer, past or present, or has motivated others as a result of a relationship with a cancer fighter. To nominate someone for this award, e-mail your name, contact information, the nominees’ name and story of inspiration in 1,000 words or less to info@jeansandjewelscharlotte.com by midnight Friday, March 8. Nominees’ stories will be placed on a public voting page until Monday, April 8. The “Jeans & Jewels” committee and 24 Hours of Booty will make the final decision on the recipient and the winner will be announced at the event April 19.

The “Inspiration Award” recognizes an individual in our community who has not only fought through the effects of cancer with impeccable strength, but serves as a great source of inspiration to other cancer survivors and to all of us involved with 24 Hours of Booty. The nominee can be a cancer fighter, survivor or someone affected by the terrible disease.  The winner is selected by an independent panel of five judges.

Last year’s winner, Heather Shifflett, inspired many around her by taking care of both her toddler who had a rare cancer of the eye as well as her mother-in-law who lives with them. Read more about her here.
